LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a colorless and odorless gas which is formed of flammable hydrocarbon gases Propane (C3H8), Butane (C4H10), either stored separately or mixed in different proportions. An odor ‘ethanethiol’ is added to it to help detect leakage and prevent any possible damage.
LPG is manufactured during the process of refining petroleum or is extracted from the vapor of natural gas or petroleum when they emerge from ground.
The boiling point of LPG is lesser than room temperature which is why it needs to be stored under pressure (in cylinders) in liquid form, else it shall evaporate.
LPG is an economical and efficient fuel source which makes it most preferred for cooking. Besides, it is a clean fuel that leaves negligible combustion emissions and can generate instant heat.
You should not accept the cylinder and return it back to the company. You should also call the customer care department and lodge a complaint for suitable action.
Bharti Gas promotes usage of safety device. This device auto-detects leakage in LPG cylinder and cuts off the gas supply instantly to curb damage. You may request Bharti Gas representative for such device and he shall install it with the product at minimal cost.
Prepare a soapy solution and pour it near the gas valves, joints and on hose pipe. In case of leakage, bubbles shall appear on the surface.
